Notebook Warm, Hot or Over Heat?

If the base of the Sony VAIO computer is warm or hot?

Question:

The base of the VAIO computer is warm while it is in use or the battery is charging.

Answer:

The base of the notebook will be warm when the computer is in use or the battery is charging. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction or safety hazard. The actual temperature of the CPU and battery will vary depending on the peripherals and software being used and the length of time that the unit has been used.

The computer is designed to turn off when the operating temperature is too high. This is normal operation. If this issue occurs on a regular basis even though the computer is used in the recommended cool, well-ventilated environment, service may be required.

Guidelines to prevent inadvertent overheating:
The computer has a cooling fan and heat sink that helps it maintain a safe operating temperature. Certain environmental factors, such as inadequate ventilation or an extremely high ambient temperature, can cause the operating temperature of the notebook to increase. Follow these guidelines to ensure the notebook is being used in the recommended environment:

Regularly wipe the exterior of the notebook case with a clean, soft cloth to prevent a build-up of dust that could interfere with air circulation of the cooling system.

Provide adequate air circulation to prevent internal heat buildup.
Leave a space of at least 8 inches behind the back panel of the notebook.
Do not place the computer on porous surfaces such as rugs or blankets, or near materials such as curtains or draperies that may block the ventilation slots.
Do not cover the computer or adapter with clothing or blankets when the computer is turned on as covering these components may cause an additional heat build-up, resulting in damage to the computer.
Do not use the computer on the lap for an extended period of time; extended contact with the computer or adapter may cause discomfort.

Cleaning external vents:
Some computrs have external vents on the back of the case. These vents allow for extra cooling by circulating air through the interior of the computer case. Excess dirt can block these vents, which could cause the computer to overheat.

Use any of the following methods to remove excess dust from the vents of the notebook:

Clean the vents with a clean, soft cloth or cotton swab.
Vacuum the vents with a handheld vac or dusting attachment on a household vacuum cleaner.
Blow the dust out of the vents using compressed air (available at most computer and electronics stores). Be careful to angle the air flow away from the computer to ensure you do not blow the dirt further into the computer case.

Roman ini ditulis oleh Luo Guanzhong, seorang sastrawan dinasti Ming dengan mengambil referensi dari literatur sejarah resmi mengenai Zaman Tiga Negara di Tiongkok dimulai dari penghujung Dinasti Han, pecahnya Tiongkok ke dalam Tiga Negara dan akhirnya dipersatukan kembali oleh Dinasti Jin. Selain dari sejarah resmi, Luo juga mengambil referensi dari cerita rakyat (urban legend) turun temurun yang dituturkan secara lisan di masyarakat pada masa hidupnya.

Kisah Tiga Negara adalah salah satu karya sastra klasik yang paling populer di dalam sejarah Tiongkok. Cerita di mulai pada tahun-tahun terakhir kekuasaan Dinasti Han di China, ketika kasim-kasim istana banyak memperdaya kaisar untuk memecat perwira-perwira yang melawan mereka. Akibat perbuatan itu, korupsi yang mengakibatkan kemerosotan besar di seluruh sektor merajalela. Pada masa kekuasaan Kaisar Ling, muncul Pemberontakan Sorban Kuning yang dipimpin oleh Zhang Jiao. Akhirnya para kasim kasim tersebut menjebaknya dengan dalih bahwa He Jin harus datang ke istana sendirian sehingga dapat dibunuh.

Pengawal-pengawal yang menunggu di luar istana, dipimpin oleh Yuan Shao, merespon pembunuhan ini dengan masuk ke dalam dan membunuh semua kasim yang ada sebagai balas dendam. Installation of the MikroTik

Overview:

This program allows remote installation of the MikroTik RouterOS over

Ethernet or to any local disk from a Windows computer.

Before you start:

Unzip and save the two netinstall files in the same directory.  The two

files are "netinstall.exe" and "mingwm10.dll".

Installation methods:

over the network using floppy boot disk on the target machine;
over the network using PXE boot system on the target machine;
on a locally connected hard/flash disk that will be used to run RouterOS.

For floppy boot:

configure the target PC's BIOS to boot from a floppy disk;
make a boot floppy using the netinstall "Make floppy" button;
boot the target "PC router" with the boot floppy.

Note: the installation method requires floppy drive presence on the 

target PC at least for the installation time. The source and target

machines must be connected to the same Ethernet network (to the same

hub/switch).

For PXE boot:

configure the target PC's BIOS to boot using PXE;
select the "PXE booting" box, enable PXE boot support, set a free IP
address reachable from this machine.

Note: the source and target machines must be connected to the same

Ethernet network (to the same hub/switch).

For local disk installation:

install the target drive on this PC;
assign the driveletter to the target drive (it may require formatting of the target drive).

Note: the installation method works on Windows NT4/2000/XP only. The

target machine must have at least 32MB of RAM.

Installation:

wait approximately 30 sec for the netinstall window to show the new target "PC router" if you are using network installation methods;
under the "Packages" window, use the browse button to select the directory with the RouterOS software packages (you may download these from www.mikrotik.com -- select only the packages you need or download the archive file "all packages")
the packages in the local folder must be unzipped to ".npk" format --the extension on the end of the file names will be ".npk")
select the packages you would like to install, "system" is required (some other may have dependencies that will automatically be marked when a file with dependencies is selected)
enter the appropriate software key (you may also enter it after the installation is finished using the keyboard and console of the target PC router)
enter the initial IP address and default gateway of the Ethernet interface (after reboot, you can telnet to it and configure the router as needed) and the baudrate of system console serial port (to configure the router using serial console cable). Alternatively you may choose to keep old configuration.
select install to begin.

Installing RouterOS with CD-Install

To install the RouterOS using a CD you will need a CD-writer and a blank CD. Burn the CD-image (an .iso file) to a CD. The archive with image can be downloaded here.

Follow the instructions to install RouterOS using CD-Install:

After downloading the CD image from www.mikrotik.com you will have an ISO file on your computer:

Open a CD Writing software, like Ahead NERO as in this example:

In the program, choose Burn Image entry from the Recorder menu (there should be similary named option in all major CD burning programs):

Select the recently extracted ISO file and click Open:

Finally, click Burn button:

Set the first boot device to CDROM in router's BIOS.

After booting from CD you will see a menu where to choose packages to install:

Move around menu using 'p' and 'n' or arrow keys, select with 'spacebar'.

Select all with 'a', minimum with 'm'. Press 'i' to install locally or 'r' to

install remote router or 'q' to cancel and reboot.

Installing RouterOS with NetInstall

Description

NetInstall is a program that allows you to install MikroTiK RouterOS on a dedicated PC or RouterBoard via Ethernet network. All you need is a blank floppy or an Ethernet device that supports PXE (like RouterBoard 100, RouterBoard 200 and RouterBoard 500 series), an Ethernet network between workstation and dedicated computer, and a serial null-modem console cable (for RouterBoard routers).

NetInstall Program Parameters

The program runs on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP platforms.

Netinstall parameters:

Routers/Drives - in this list you can see all the devices waiting for installation.

Software ID - a unique ID that is generated for licensing purposes.

Key - a key that is generated for the Software ID. When you purchase a license, you get a key file. Click the Browse... button next to the key field to select your key file.

Get Key... - obtain software key from MikroTIK server:

Software ID - ID for which the key will be generated (depending on the license level).
Username - client's username in the Account data base.
Password - client's password.
Level - license level of RouterOS.
Debit key - a key that you have paid for, but haven't generated yet.
Debit money - money that you have on your account. To add money to your account, use the 'add debit' link in the account server.
Credit key - a key that you can take now, but pay later.
Credit money - paying with credit money allows you to get your keys now and pay for them later.

Keep old configuration - used for reinstalling the software. If checked, the old configuration on the router will not be overwritten, otherwise it will be lost.

IP address/mask - address with subnet mask that will be assigned to ether1 interface after the packages are installed.

Gateway - specifies the default gateway (static route).

Baud rate - this baud rate will be set for serial console (bps).

Configure script - a RouterOS script to execute after the package installation. Note that not all the devices (especially, wireless cards) may be discovered at the time this script is run, so it is suggested to put a delay (about 20 seconds) at the start of the script to be sure that all devices are up and running.

Make floppy - make a bootable NetInstall floppy.

Net booting - opens the Network Booting Settings window. Enter an IP address from your local network. This address will be temporarily assigned to the computer where RouterOS will be installed on.

Install - installs the RouterOS on a computer.

Cancel - cancel the installation.

Sets - an entry in this list represents the choice of packages selected to install from a directory. If you want to make your own set, browse for a folder that contains packages (*.npk files), select needed packages in the list, and press the Save set button.

From - type the directory where your packages are stored or press the Browse... button to select the directory.

Select all - selects all packages in the list

Select none - unselects all packages in the list

Note: some of the Get key... parameters could not be available for all account types.

NetInstall Example

This example shows step-by-step instructions how to install the software on a RouterBoard 200.

Connect the routerboard to a switch (or a hub) as it is shown in the diagram using ether1 interface (on RouterBoard 230 it is next to the RS-232 interface):

Run NetInstall program on your workstation (you can download it here. It is necessary to extract the packages (*.npk files) on your hard drive.

Enter the Boot Server Client's IP address. Use an address from a network to which belongs your NIC (in this case 172.16.0.0/24). This IP address will be temporarily assigned to the routerboard.

Set the RouterBoard to boot from Ethernet interface. To do this, enter the RouterBoard BIOS (press any key when prompted):

When this is done, the RouterBoard BIOS will return to the first menu. Press the 'x' key to exit from BIOS. The router will reboot.

When booting up, the RouterBoard will try to boot from its Ethernet device. If successful, the Workstation will give to this RouterBoard an IP address, specified in Network Booting Settings. After this process, the RouterBoard will be waiting for installation.
On the workstation, there will appear a new entry in Routers/Drives list:

You can identify the router by MAC address in the list. Click on the desired entry and you will be able to configure installation parameters.

When done, press the Install button to install RouterOS.

When the installation process has finished, press 'Enter' on the console or 'Reboot' button in the NetInstall program. Remember to set the boot device back to IDE in the RouterBoard BIOS.

Akan tampil hasil pencarian, sebelum anda tambahkan ke dalam Playlist, alangkah baiknya jika anda mendengarkan terlebih dahulu lagunya dengan cara meng-klik Play yang terletak di samping lagu.
Jika menurut anda lagunya bagus dan cocok, untuk menambahkan ke Playlist, klik tanda plus di samping lagu. Secara otomatis, lagu akan bertambah di sebelah kanan Playlist.
Anda juga bisa mengedit judul lagu pada playlist dengan cara mengklik Edit
Untuk men-delete lagu, klik tanda silang pada playlist.

Ketikkan Playlist Name
Untuk mendapatkan lagu-lagu tersebut, anda akan diharuskan meregister terlebih dahulu. Namun registrasi ini hanya bersifat satu kali. Untuk itu, anda bisa mengisi beberapa pertanyaan saat meregister dengan memberitahukan alamat email dan password anda.
Jika sudah mengisi semua, anda bisa mengklik Register
Lalu lanjutkan dengan mengklik Add to Profile
Klik Add, untuk memasukkan Playlist ke profile anda.
Playlist anda sudah terintegrasi ke dalan facebook pribadi.

Jika anda ingin membuat Playlist baru, dalam kotak Playlist klik saja menu Create. Sedangkan untuk menambah lagu, anda bisa meng-klik menu Get Tracks.

Bahkan kedalam Twiter, Bloger pun bisa di embed codenya.. jadi gampang sekali..

Bagaimanakah Install XP menggunakan USB Flash Disk????????

Makin maraknya Notebook dengan ukuran mini atau Mini Note/Mini PC dan semacamnya, beragam merek beredar. mulai dari merek yang sudah terkenal seperti Acer, Toshiba, Axio, Zyrex, dan merek-merek baru yang beredar di pasaran..
Dan semuanya tanpa CD/DVD Rom... biar enteng dari segi harga dan spek,, dan rata-rata menggunakan Processor Intel Atom... dengan Display 1280x600 dpi.. Cukup sih..
Tapi yang jadi masalah adalah jika terjadi kerusakan OS Windowsnya atau terkena Virus mau nggak mau harus balik lagi ke yang menjual atau toko tempat pertama membeli laptop tersebut..

Dari pada bolak bali, misalnya Bekasi-Mangga Dua/Glodok.. kenapa nggak dicoba dengan tips ini... ya mudah-mudahan berhasil, soalnya penulis belum pernah coba sih hehehehehehehee,

Apakah yang dibutuhkan :

USB Flash Drive sedikitnya 1 GB. High Speed tidak diperlukan tetapi lebih baik
Software pendukung seperti : usb_prep8 , bootsect , dan PeToUsb (minta tolong mbah Google aja pasti beres)
Sebuah PC atau Laptop dengan windows XP atau Vista dan CDrom
CD original Windows XP or Vista.

Cara/Langkah Pengkopian (XP to USB dan konfigurasi USB untuk install XP)

Extrack usb_prep8, PetoUSB dan bootsect. dan kemudian Copilah PeToUSB .exe ke dalam folder USB_prep8
Dalam folder usb_prep8 . dobel klik usb_prep8.cmd. kemudian command prompt akan terbuka.
Tekan enter. program PeToUSB akan otomatis terbuka;
Pastikan setting PeToUSB pada posisi enable disk format –> enable LBA (FAT16x), sekarang klik “Start”. proses format akan dimulai dan membutuhkan beberapa detik saja.
Jangan Menutup PetoUSB dan usb_prep8. sekarang buatlah command prompt dengan mengetikkan “cmd” dalam the Start->Run . dalam baris perintah command prompt, pastikan lokasi direktori bootsect.exe disimpan. setelah itu ketikkan “bootsect.exe /nt52 F:“. Rubah “F” dengan lokasi drive USB Drive. CATATAN: ketika menjalankan perintah bootsect.exe jangan membuka konten dari USB drive. jika selesai anda akan melihat “Bootcode was successfully updated on all targeted volumes.”S
Sekarang tutup Comand prompt nya (jangan menutup usb_prep8).
Sekarang tutup PeToUSB. kemudian anda akan melihat usb_prep8;
Sekarang anda perlu merubah nomor 1-3. Tekan 1 dan tekan enter. dan folder browse akan membantu untuk memilih lokasi windows XP berada (letak cdrom drive windows XP), Tekan 2 dan tekan enter, biarkan pada posisi drive T, Tekan 3 dan tekan enter, lokasi drive dari USB flash disk, Tekan 4 tekan start kemudian proses dimulai.
Setelah itu akan diminta untuk menformat drive T:. ini adalah space sementara untuk untuk instalasi windows. kemudian tekan Y dan enter.
Sekali lagi akan dilakukan poses format, tekan enter untuk melanjutkan, akan terlihat windows XP yang dikopi kedalam dari lokasi windows XP ke drive temporary (:T). ini membutuhkan waktu sekita 3 s/d 5 menit. tekan enter untuk melanjutkan.
Tahap berikutnya anda akan melihat permintaan untuk mencopy file dari drive template (T), ke USB drive dan tekan “yes”. ini akan membutuhkan waktu 15 menit tergantu dari kecepatan USB.

Setelah program selesai akan muncul peringatan bahwa USB drive akan menggunakan Drive U:, kemudian pilih yes.
Selesai. dan pilih yes untuk menonaktifkan virtual drive.

10 Langkah Instalasi Windows XP dengan USB

Dear friend ...
Saat ini, keberadaan laptop mungil tengah menawan hati sebagian besar pengguna komputer jinjing. Bagaimana tidak? Walaupun terkadang spesifikasi sebuah subnotebook tidak semumpuni notebook-notebook berukuran lebih besar, ukurannya yang mini dan kemampuannya yang dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan berkomputer sehari-hari menjadikan subnotebook sebagai salah satu gadget yang sangat diminati, disamping harganya yang lebih terjangkau, tentu saja.

Nah, salah satu usaha produsen subnotebook untuk "merampingkan" produknya adalah dengan meniadakan perangkat optical drive, seperti CD-ROM/RW atau DVD-ROM/RW. Komponen yang digunakan untuk mengakses keping CD atau DVD ini memang cukup menyita ruang dan sumber daya.

Sebagai konsekuensinya, pemilik subnotebook tak dapat mengakses CD atau DVD di subnotebook-nya, atau terpaksa membeli external optical drive yang tetap dijalankan via port USB yang tersedia.
Salah satu masalah yang timbul akibat ketidaktersediaan optical drive pada subnotebook adalah kesulitan saat hendak melakukan instalasi aplikasi ataupun sistem operasi. Tak jarang pengguna harus menyalin aplikasi atau sistem operasi yang hendak di-install ke dalam USB flash disk, atau mencolok external optical drive dan melakukan instalasi seperti biasa. Namun, tentu saja hal ini sangat merepotkan, mengingat tak banyak pengguna awam yang mengetahui prosedur instalasi aplikasi atau sistem operasi via flash disk, dan harga sebuah external optical drive yang tidak murah.

Contoh kasus, andaikan kita hendak mengganti sistem operasi Xandros Linux yang terpasang di subnotebook Asus Eee PC dengan Windows XP, maka kita harus menginstal via external optical drive. Mungkin tak terlalu memusingkan bagi Anda yang punya cukup dana untuk membeli sebuah external optical drive, namun bagaimana dengan Anda yang sejak awal ingin berhemat dengan membeli subnotebook?

Nah, lewat artikel ini penulis ingin berbagi tips membuat modul instalasi Windows XP menggunakan media USB flash disk, yang tentunya akan menghemat biaya dan menjadikan pembaca lebih pintar. Modul instalasi ini tak hanya dapat diimplementasikan dalam instalasi ke subnotebook saja, tapi juga dapat diaplikasikan pada komputer mana pun yang sudah memiliki fitur untuk booting via USB.

"Gampang! Tinggal salin file instalasi Windows XP ke flash disk!" Mungkin itu yang terlintas di benak Anda, tapi percayalah bahwa membuat modul instalasi Windows XP tidak semudah itu. Namun jangan khawatir, karena dengan mengikuti langkah-langkah berikut, proses pembuatan modul instalasi Windows XP pun tak terlalu sulit dilakukan.

Yang Harus Disiapkan:

Sebuah komputer yang dilengkapi optical drive (CD atau DVD) dan port USB yang dapat bekerja dengan baik.
Sebuah USB flash disk berkapasitas 1 atau 2 GB.
CD instalasi Windows XP.
Aplikasi pembuat modul instalasi (USB_PREP8 dan PEtoUSB) yang dapat diunduh cuma-cuma, PeToUSB, usb_prep8, bootsect,
Do'a dan keberanian!

Langkah-langkah Pembuatan:

Tancapkan USB flash disk ke salah satu port USB. Ingat-ingat posisi drive-nya. Apakah F:, G:, H:, dan sebagainya.
Saat Anda berada di posisi normal (desktop), masukkan CD instalasi Windows XP ke optical drive. Jika komputer menjalankan proses instalasi secara otomatis, batalkan saja dan tutup semua aplikasi yang tengah berjalan.
Unduh dan ekstrak aplikasi yang penulis berikan. Saran penulis, ekstrak seluruh isinya ke sebuah folder, semisal C:\USB.
Selanjutnya, buka folder di mana Anda mengekstrak aplikasi modul pembuat instalasi, kali ini kita ambil contoh C:\USB.
Jalankan file bernama "usb_prep8.bat" maka di layar monitor akan tampak jendela Command Prompt berisi macam-macam perintah. Jika sudah muncul tulisan "Press any key to continue," tekan sembarang tombol untuk konfirmasi.
Di layar akan muncul jendela PEtoUSB yang meminta Anda memformat USB flash disk Anda. Tak perlu mengubah setting apa pun, langsung klik Start untuk mulai proses format. Jawab konfirmasi sesuai kebutuhan Anda.
Jika sudah selesai, tutup jendela PEtoUSB (jangan menutup jendela Command Prompt yang tadi terbuka ketika Anda menjalankan usb_prep8.bat), maka di layar akan muncul opsi-opsi dari 0 hingga 5.
Gunakan opsi 1 untuk memilih sumber file instalasi yang nantinya akan disalin ke flash disk. Disini, tentukan di drive mana Anda menyimpan instalasi Windows XP. Pilih saja optical drive di mana sudah ada CD Windows XP di dalamnya, atau pilih folder pilihan Anda jika Anda telah menyalin file instalasi Windows XP ke folder tertentu.
Pilih opsi 3 untuk menentukan di mana Anda mencolok flash disk. Kalau flash disk Anda berada di drive F:, maka ketik F dan tekan ENTER. Jika drive G: maka ketik G dan tekan ENTER, begitu seterusnya berlaku untuk drive lain.
Selanjutnya pilih opsi 4 untuk mulai proses pembuatan modul instalasi yang nantinya akan disalin ke flash disk secara otomatis. Jawab apa pun konfirmasi yang muncul dengan Y atau YES atau OK atau bentuk persetujuan lain.

Selesai!

Kini flash disk Anda telah siap digunakan untuk instalasi Windows XP! Silahkan melakukan setting pada BIOS subnotebook Anda, dan pilih Removeable Disk (atau apa pun nama lainnya) sebagai media pertama yang dijalankan saat booting.

Mengingat teknik instalasi semacam ini juga tersedia di internet, Anda juga bisa mencarinya via mesin cari. Selamat mencoba...!

Usahakan sebelum melakukan permohonan, anda telah memiliki lalu lintas web yang tinggi.
